Size tables
Compression stockings are a medical product designed to prevent and treat the circulatory system and therefore it is necessary to select its correct size.
When selecting the size of compression stockings or arm sleeves, it is crucial to take correct measurements. Compression products will not function properly unless you select the correct size.
Preferably, take measurements in the morning before the limbs swell during the day. Measure all the points required in the size table of the given product (illustrated in the picture). The most important measurements are those of values b (circumference above the ankle), d (circumference below the knee), and g (circumference of the thigh 5 cm below the crotch). Also important is the length between points A and G (for thigh-high stockings or tights) or A and D (for calf-length stockings).
Avicenum 70 sizes – support compression class (standard sizes)
- calf-length stockings sizes are selected by the size of the feet: 36–38 (23–25), 39–41 (25–27), 42–44 (27–29), 45–47 (29–31)
- sizes of thigh-high stockings:
M, L (thigh circumference 50–60 cm)
XL (thigh circumference over 60 cm) - tights sizes are selected by the body height / hip circumference
Avicenum 140 sizes – compression class 1 (circumference and length of the legs)
- to correctly determine the size of the calf-length or thigh-high stockings and thighs, it is necessary to measure both the foot circumference at several measuring points and the length of the leg.
- then select the correct size from the Avicenum 140 size table depending on the measured values

Avicenum 310 sizes – compression class 1 (standard sizes)
- calf-length stockings sizes are determined by standard sizes for feet 36–38, 39–41, 42–44, 45–47
Avicenum 360 and Avicenum 520 sizes – compression class 2 and 3 (measurement of the circumference and length of the legs)
- to correctly determine the size of the calf-length or thigh-high stockings and thighs, it is necessary to measure both the foot circumference at several measuring points and the length of the leg.
- then select the correct size from the size table
- in addition to the standard and special sizes, there are also minus (for patients with slim thighs), plus (for patients with thicker thighs), and ultra-short (for small patients) sizes.
- patients with non-standard or non-symmetrical (left vs. right limbs) can order custom-made compression products
A-D, A-G délková míra
To properly select the size of an arm sleeve, it is most important to correctly measure the wrist circumference (point c) and the arm circumference (point g). Points a (palm circumference) and d (forearm circumference) are additional measures, e.g., in case of an arm sleeve with a glove. Measurement of the arm is also important (measured from C to G).
